Canton Central Catholic
Hey kids,
Though not originally intended, we have decided that WE WILL BE attending the Canton Central Catholic tournament on Jan. 4th (debate only) and Jan. 5th (all events). This is the last weekend of our winter break, but if you would still like to go, please fill out a form IMMEDIATELY.
Also, we plan on having an all-team practice someday over Winter Break, but it will be announced once we get things more organized (location, food, etc.)
AND we also plan on having a team get-together, party, fill-in-the-blank for “shindig” over break, as well. However, it will not coincide with the practice (we need some plain old hang out time). Date and specifics to be announced, but if you have any ideas, feel free to share them

For those who don’t understand power rounds
I know that a lot of you aren’t familiar with the terminology yet and don’t quite understand what a “power round” is, so here’s a basic rundown:
The tournament runs exactly like every other tournament that you have been to except for one thing — a fourth round is held in individual events. ONLY the competitors who would have placed 1st- 6th compete in this round. These competitors are then judged (there are usually 3 judges) and ranked as usual. Their rankings in this round determine the place that they get overall.
Power rounds allow observers. Please, please, PLEASE make sure that ANY Stow team member who makes it into a power round has at least one or two teammates observing that round for support. If you do not make it into a power round, you may not wait in the cafeteria or auditorium, you MUST go and observe a round, either of a teammate or of your own event. Your behavior in these rounds should be exactly like your behavior in any round in which you compete. Remember that any misbehavior on the part of an observer can result in the Stow competitor’s disqualification from the round.
GOOD LUCK AND HAVE FUN. NO WORRIES!
